Job Title: Education Offer
Contract type: 12 month fixed term contract, part time 3 days per week
Salary: We strive for transparency in remuneration. The salary range for this role is £19,800 - £21,000 per annum, pro rata (60% FTE), the equivalent of £33,000 - £35,000 full time (100% FTE)
Hybrid working: 2-3 days per week at Kings Place, London with the possibility to work from home more frequently outside of school term time.

Through our news and media literacy programmes, we empower children and young people with the critical skills they need to navigate and engage with news in an informed way.
We are looking for a talented and motivated Education Officer to join our news and media literacy programme team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with demonstrated classroom experience.
About the Role
The successful candidate will inspire young people to think critically about the news and develop essential media literacy skills.
The role involves teaching and facilitating workshops for children and young people, including:
1. Full and half-day in-person sessions at our Education Centre
2. Shorter virtual sessions with schools across the UK
3. Family workshops across the UK
4. Teacher training and professional development activities
This role is a great opportunity to gain skills and experience in teaching outside the classroom by inspiring young people about news and supporting them in developing critical media literacy skills.
About You:
1. A qualified teacher with demonstrated teaching experience
2. Strong pedagogical knowledge in English/literacy, PSHE education and/or digital literacy
3. Expertise in critical literary practices
4. Adaptable, learning focused and comfortable using technology in an educational setting
5. Creative, enthusiastic with a commitment to widening participation in journalism and the media industry

You’ll have 30 days of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age).
