Head 4 Talent are currently working exclusively with a leading business near Ammanford that are currently going through a significant investment. As part of their impressive growth they are seeking to hire a commercial driven Financial Controller to oversee the day-to-day running of the Finance Department.
You will be directly responsible for the financial operations, ensuring robust financial management whilst also supporting strategic decision making. You will provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, ensure strong financial controls are in place, accurately account for transactions, and report on the business’s financial performance. This role would suit an ambitious candidate that is looking to make a mark within an exciting fast growth business.
Duties Include
* Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
* Oversee the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
* Partnering with the FD to prepare budgets & forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Partnering with departmental managers to help them understand their variances to budget.
* Analysing financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
* Management of cashflow and preparation of 12m cash forecast.
* Monitor working capital with a view to effectively managing Debtors, Creditors and Stock.
* Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators relevant to the manufacturing operations.
* Ensuring accurate costing and margin analysis of products, materials, and production processes.
* Working closely with senior managers including sales, operations and other teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
* Oversight of weekly and monthly payroll.
* Support business growth initiatives, including investment appraisals and cost-saving projects.
* Attending month, quarter and year end stock takes.
* Overseeing stock and inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting.
* Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
* Continuously improving financial reporting processes and internal controls.
* Supporting ad hoc financial projects as required.
Experience Required
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent with at least 5 years PQE.
* Ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
* Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business improvements.
* High level of IT literacy, with experience in financial modelling and data analysis.
* In a finance function of a medium/large business, preferably manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial reporting within a production setting.
