SCRUM MASTER X2
24 MONTHS CONTRACT
SANDIACRE, NG10 5AN (HYBRID – 3 DAYS OFFICE)
COMPETITIVE SALARY
Progress Rail is looking to recruit 2 Scrum Masters to support the Head of Transformation Programme with the transformation of the business though a multi-year programme of re-definition and re-alignment of processes, ways of working with data, and ultimately software. This scrum master will deliver to agile and scrum principals primarily in a business improvement environment, rather than a solely software development scenario.
The post holder will work within a small team of Scrum Masters across several large projects, including: Process Mapping, Business Data Structure, and ERP System Migration. They will also support the adoption of agile business practises into a traditionally waterfall business, via the introduction of new best practises, training sessions and positive engagement across multiple departments and cross functional groups, to allow this change strategy to be embedded into the standard culture and way of working at PRS-UK.
THE ROLE:
As a Scrum Master your duties will include:
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with product owners, stakeholders, and team members to ensure alignment and mutual understanding.
* Facilitate Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
* Encourage open and constructive dialogue to maintain focus on team objectives and shared goals, mediating disagreements and providing professional challenge where necessary.
* Create a positive team culture that encourages, autonomy, improvement and growth.
* Coach and mentor team members on Agile methodologies and best practices
* Work closely with Product Owners to manage the product backlog and ensure it is accurate and prioritized
* Monitor and communicate progress, risks, and issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.
* Proactively identify and challenge to remove blockers to help the team stay focused on achieving their sprint goals.
* Take ownership of the tracking tool(s) within owned scrums, leveraging features to monitor progress and ensure accurate data.
* Partner with digital teams and other stakeholders to streamline processes and drive internal efficiency improvements.
* Evaluate team performance metrics to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
* Advocate for and facilitate Agile maturity across the organisation, offering training and support to foster a culture of growth and adaptability.
* Stay up to date with industry trends and refine Agile practices to meet evolving delivery and team needs.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Scrum Master:
* Certified Scrum Master
* Demonstrable experience in change management
* Demonstrable experience in agile methodology including scrums
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong analytical skills with internal customer focused approach
* Strong ability to work effectively with cross-function teams
* Highly self-motivated
* Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
* Office 365 suite literate
