Orchard House Surgery based in Newmarket, on the borders of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, is seeking an advanced nurse practitioner to join our friendly teaching and training practice for both Cambridge Medical Students and Bury St Edmunds GPSTP. This position is offered either with part or full-time hours as they are negotiable. The main responsibilities of the role include: Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base. Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients’ conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate. Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues. Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population. Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills. As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework. Leading and undertaking research and audits. Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students. About the Candidate The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC. Recognised ANP qualification at master's level. Independent prescriber qualification. Work with a high degree of autonomy.
