System Integration and Test Manager
The primary purpose of this role is to define and implement the System Integration, Verification and Validation (IVVQ)/ITEA strategy, management and tasks for key business projects across various domains.
This position involves delivering solutions to a wide range of customers in our Civil and Military domains. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting less experienced IVVQ Managers in planning and executing IVVQ/ITEA activities
* Acting as the IVVQ Manager on specific projects on short secondments or extended loan
* Supporting multiple projects across Land, Sea and Air products
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
As an expert in IVVQ and ITEA, you will be accountable to the UK Head of IVVQ (Discipline & Capability) Manager and/or the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) for the project/program being supported.
Your responsibilities may include:
* Leading System Integration, Verification, Validation activities on behalf of Thales for complex programmes, including working with customers
* Preparing IVVQA plans, work schedules and organisational breakdown structures
* Managing System IVV teams to conduct System IVV to schedule
* Liaising with project/bid managers, requirements leads and customers to ensure IVVQ/ITEA is integral to planning processes
* Preparation of System Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification activities
* Defining IVVQ strategies, establishing requirements and performing estimates and scheduling
* Specifying and managing test equipment acquisition
* Selecting and deploying methodologies, tools and platforms for IVVQ and acceptance activities
* Proposing IVVQ scenarios and managing their implementation
* Planning, coordinating and managing System IVVQ activities, including production of test benches and system verification tests
* Establishing priorities, identifying risks and reporting on associated issues
* Reviewing suppliers' test plans and testing on manufacturers' sites or at customers' premises
* Supporting and potentially managing trials teams
* Analysing results and producing technical reports
* Working in multi-disciplinary teams
* Providing guidance and support to development projects
* Leading and producing product IVVQ plans, maximising automated test methods to increase efficiency
* Reviewing technical artefacts from an IVVQ perspective
* Operating as a lead for the Systems IVVQ Engineering Team and ensuring delivery of all IVVQ work products
* Establishing and maintaining IVVQ metrics for progress reporting and decision-making
* Organising and leading defect sentencing and governance reviews
* Supporting customer meetings and leading system demonstrations
* Collating evidence for population of the system VVRM
Experience and Skills
We are seeking an individual with:
* Experience in planning and executing complex System IVVQA campaigns
* Leadership and management experience in System IVV teams
* Ability to work in multicultural teams
* Good knowledge of Systems Engineering, Design, Verification and Validation
* A proven record of working on all aspects of Systems IVVQ and Systems IVV environments
* Experience in generating and executing test cases to verify systems
* Experience in root cause analysis of observed problems
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Methodical and organised approach
* Sharp intellect with a challenging approach and 'can-do attitude'
* Good understanding of engineering processes and measures
* Able to influence a wide range of people to achieve work goals in a matrix-based organisation
* Experience using test equipment for System IVV
* Ideal experience in Automated System testing tools
This role requires SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.
