The Mobile Emergency Care Service have a part time opportunity working as a Mobile Warden within the Mobile Emergency Care Service (MECS). This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to support the work within the MECS Service to deliver a quality, efficient and effective MECS service across the Falkirk area.
You will be involved in responding to emergency requests for assistance from service users within their own homes. You must be an experienced social service worker with commitment, patience and an understanding of ageing and disability and their effect on people’s lives. You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working and written skills.
If you would like a job where no two days are the same, then this may be for you. The post will involve responding to emergency situations and will include falls, personal care etc. as well as installation and de-installation of equipment and carrying out regular review visits with service users throughout the Falkirk Council area. Training will be provided, both formal and informal, to facilitate the delivery of the MECS service
You are required to commit to an agreed rostered shift working pattern, this could include early, back and night shifts.
MECS are looking to fill various posts, these include 1 permanent post and 4 temporary posts. There are a number of shifts and contracted hours available, and these will be discussed with you at the interview.
All MECS Wardens are paid for every minute of their shift including any meal breaks; this is necessary to allow all emergency situations to be handled at any time.
You must have, or be willing to work towards, an appropriate qualification. You will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 3 months on employment
The posts all involve lone working.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
