Job Description
I'm working with a leading Automotive Tier 1 supplier that has secured significant investment to support the launch of a new vehicle for a top-tier automotive OEM. As a Material Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless supply chain operations during this exciting launch phase and beyond.
Responsible for analysing and responding to supply requirements from manufacturing and sales forecasts, you will ensure timely parts supply and maintain MRP schedule accuracy to support ongoing production planning activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse supply requirements from ERP systems to support production and NPI launches.
* Address shortages, resolve supplier issues, and collaborate closely with schedulers.
* Oversee supplier compliance with EDI/ASN systems and drive improvements.
* Align supplier schedules with production demand, including volume changes and engineering updates.
* Develop and execute inventory burn-off plans for part transitions during new product introductions (NPI).
* Mitigate supplier costs for cancellations, excess inventory, and escalate when necessary.
* Conduct regular audits of supplier data to ensure accuracy and readiness for launches.
* Monitor shipments, resolve ASN errors, and track supplier OTIF performance.
* Actively support lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
What We’re Looking For
* 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or NPI/launch environments.
* Proven track record in master production scheduling and supporting new product introductions.
* Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
* Exceptional communication skills to collaborate across internal and external teams.
* Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about process improvement and automotive innovation.
