Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Falmer or Chatham – Hybrid Working with regular site visits across the Southern Water Patch.
Salary: up to £85,000 depending on skills and experience
Are you ready to take on a key leadership role in the infrastructure and wastewater sector? We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee high-impact design and construction programmes within the Wastewater Network Developer Service Delivery team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the performance and efficiency of major infrastructure projects, delivering outcomes aligned with our strategic goals.
Job Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and directing multiple programmes of work within wastewater capital delivery and developer services team, with an overall budget of £100-200m across a 5-year AMP cycle. You will play a key role in ensuring projects meet developer requirements as well as other projects associated with network capital maintenance requirements and the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) and Outcome Delivery Incentive (ODI) outcomes, while managing complex, strategic, and tactical growth and maintenance schemes.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Lead the day-to-day management of the Wastewater Network Developer Service Delivery team, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
2. Provide leadership to the Wastewater Capital Delivery teams responsible for network growth and maintenance.
3. Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
4. Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Oversee the financial forecasting, risk management, and performance reporting of major infrastructure projects.
About You
6. Experience: Extensive experience in infrastructure program and project delivery, particularly in the water or utilities industry.
7. Experience: Proven experience of designing and building of contracts.
8. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, with strong delegation and problem-solving skills.
9. Qualifications: Degree in Science, Engineering, or Management (or equivalent experience). Chartered status or working towards it is highly desirable.
10. Certifications: APM Project Professional Qualification, Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, and NEC for Project Managers.
Package
This role will be full-time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
