Cardiology Nurse Specialist - Rapid Access Chest Pain
The post holder will work as an autonomous specialist nurse practitioner in the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic, using specialized skills and knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients to facilitate early diagnosis, investigation, and treatments.
Main Duties of the Job
They will triage patient referrals to the Rapid Access Chest Pain service, received from GP or ED, and liaise with TAC to organize clinic appointments, ensuring they are seen promptly within the National required time frame of 14 days.
They will request relevant tests, prescribe medications if necessary, and make onward referrals. The post holder will respond to test results and communicate these to the patient, GP, and other healthcare professionals. They will provide education and advice to ensure the patient is engaged with their treatment plan and work within the multidisciplinary team. Provision of a weekly MDT with Consultant Cardiologist takes place weekly.
They will be involved in the development of policies and participate in audits, clinical governance, and research.

* Recognized post-registration cardiac course
* ENB 998 or equivalent
* Evidence of continuous professional development
