The Accounts Payable Compliance Manager is a key role within the finance department, responsible for ensuring the accounts payable processes adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies., This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, compliance standards, and the ability to implement and monitor effective control measures. The Accounts Payable Compliance Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, manage audits, and continuously assess and enhance the accounts payable compliance framework. In this role, you can expect to get involved in a variety of work including:
* Develop, implement, and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Update processes in accordance with changes to accounting standards, laws and regulations, and / or Tax requirements. Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with the firm's policies.
* Coordinate responses to internal and external audits related to accounts payable. Prepare documentation and reports for auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
* Conduct risk assessments related to accounts payable processes. Identify and address potential compliance risks and control weaknesses.
* Implement and manage a vendor due diligence process to assess and monitor the compliance of vendors. Ensure vendors meet the firm's and external client's compliance standards.
* Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager to build training programs and guidance on compliance, policies, and procedures.
Keep the finance team informed about changes in compliance requirements.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance compliance and efficiency. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices.
* Generate and analyse reports related to compliance metrics. Provide regular updates to management on compliance status.
* Collaborate with Financial Control team to ensure a comprehensive approach to compliance. Communicate compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Experience
* Solid and proven experience in a similar position with strong regulatory knowledge
* Audit and / or compliance background preferred
* Strong knowledge of or part qualified ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW or qualified by experience
