The role of the Technical Supervisor is to support the Technical Manager and the Technical Team and contribute to developing a customer-oriented, solutions-focused team culture. You will contribute to ensuring the integrity of product and technical data is maintained and excellent service levels are consistently achieved in the delivery of product data and technical assistance to internal departments, customers, and suppliers. You will maintain awareness of upcoming industry relevant legislation and technical changes that will impact Creed Foodservice and support the development of a best-in-class solution.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
* Manage the Technical Team in a positive, customer-focused and professional manner.
* Assist the Senior Technical Manager to recruit, train and develop the team for both new positions and succession planning.
* Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, solutions-oriented, and customer service-focused culture through coaching and mentoring the team and encouraging two-way communication.
* Listen to employee, customer and stakeholder feedback and share ideas to improve employee engagement with the Senior Technical Manager.
* Share ideas to develop innovative ways of working to improve company performance and employee engagement in line with the business strategy and within departmental budget.
* Ensure that the department demonstrates professionalism and delivers an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers.
* Line Management Responsibilities and accountability for providing management cover and supervisory support to colleagues.
* Provide support, guidance, and expertise to internal stakeholders in context of supplier selection, supplier expertise, product quality attributes and control parameters which will successfully contribute to exceeding customer expectations, growing sales, and profit.
* Maintain the Saffron nutritional & allergen reporting software whilst providing internal & external training.
* Deliver Saffron software sales demonstrations and training to both new and existing customers.
* Ensure internal compliance to meet externally achieved certifications.
* Manage food quality and safety complaints in-line with the company complaint process.
* Resolve customer product complaints, tracking trends and escalating appropriately in line with company procedure.
* Effective supplier management from initial selection & approval through conducting site visits (if required), setting clear technical expectations, providing guidance & support, issuing performance updates and instigating joint business/improvement plans.
* Accountability and responsibility for reporting on the accuracy of specifications for all products across multiple platforms and maintenance of the approved supplier database.
* Maintain awareness of packaging regulations (EPR), compliance, and submit in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Keep up to date with upcoming legislative and industry changes suggest solutions to the technical manager.
* Ownership, expertise and management of appropriate third-party customer portals.
* Responsible for conducting 121’s, performance, induction, absence reviews and staff searches in line with company policies and procedures.
* Support with business-related projects.
* Actively promote a food safety culture through sharing knowledge and expertise.
* To disclose any evidence of product safety, legality, quality, or integrity issues.
* To report all accidents and promote best practices in Health and Safety and contribute to ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, workers, and visitors on site.

* A good team player, with tenacity, attention to detail and good problem-solving skills that follow processes in place and prioritise business improvement.
* Experience in a Senior or Supervisory role in the food industry.
* Experience managing people in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
* Passionate about food safety and interested in nutrition and allergen information.
* Enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for continuous professional development.
* Excellent numeracy and IT skills including intermediate MS Excel.
* Excellent administration skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
* A good team player, with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills that follow processes in place and participate in sharing ideas for improvement.
* Adaptable to change, creative and interested in learning and developing both the team and commercial outputs for the business area.
* Excellent presentation skills and confident presenting to large audiences of both internal and external customers.
* Excellent food product knowledge and experience of the food industry gained within a wholesale or manufacturing environment.
* Experience and knowledge of European and UK food Legislation.
* Experience in a Senior or Supervisor capacity gained within an office environment.
* Experience and knowledge of quality management, project management, Food Safety and HACCP, TACCP and VACCP systems.
* HACCP level 3 and TACCP and VACCP Level 2 Qualifications.
* Degree level qualification in food science or similar.
* Experience working with ERP systems.
