Job Description:
A National Civil Engineering contractor, due to a period of sustained growth, has a requirement for an additional Site Engineer to join their team. This contractor delivers a diverse range of complex civil engineering works, with this particular job in South Ayrshire being a windfarm project set to start in late 2024. There will be approximately 6 months of public road upgrade works leading into the main windfarm works, which are due to commence in Spring 2025 and will last a further 12 months.
The successful Site Engineer will work alongside a Senior Site Engineer.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Deliver setting out works on ongoing contracts, ensuring they operate within cost, productivity, quality, and health, safety, and environment targets.
2. Ensure contracts are delivered safely on time, within budget, and to programme.
3. Maintain a good relationship with clients to avoid disputes.
4. Have a high level of commercial awareness related to the works.
5. Assure that all work is carried out to company safety, environmental, and quality standards and regularly communicate with staff and operatives.
6. Carry out safety audits as required by line management.
7. Liaise with and manage sub-contractors to ensure strict adherence to the company's health, safety, and environment policy and quality standards.
8. Ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff, and yourself.
Essential Criteria:
1. Experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
2. HND/Degree in Civil Engineering.
3. Appropriate knowledge of health and safety policies.
4. Understanding of modern setting out equipment.
5. Good working knowledge of IT systems, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
6. Practice of prioritising time-critical work.
7. Excellent communication and liaison skills.
