Strategic Account Manager Full time, Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager to join our Sales team, reporting directly to the Senior Strategic & Global Accounts Manager. Working as part of the Strategic & Global Accounts team, the role incorporates the management of a selection of key BCO retail accounts to the highest level, pro-actively securing new business (inbound, outbound and cross-trade), whilst growing relationships across all required levels to ensure delivery of commercial and operational excellence. The successful applicant will offer strategic thinking, long term planning and logistics solutions to their client base. The preparation of high-level reporting and analysis to deliver agreed budget targets and develop new clients and opportunities, whilst shaping the strategy to drive increased sales of all MSC products. Skills and experience you'll bring to us Experience in key account management and coordination Ownership of specific key BCO retail accounts and demanding portfolio of customers Proven awareness and understanding of UK business indicators and sector trends Drive to build relationships and develop volume with current client base whilst increasing the portfolio of accounts with new customers Communicator and sound negotiator at all levels and can track and "hunt" potential new business Excellent verbal and written communications skills with high level of computer analysis A positive attitude to solving business issues, working closely and collaborating with departments across the whole business A good track record in negotiating up to Board level would be beneficial A focused, proactive and self-motivated person with the ability to manage deadlines Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills Microsoft programme skills (to include Excel and PowerPoint) would be beneficial How you will help us and what you can expect High level key account management, developing account opportunities by customer, commodity or sector Focus on TEU growth, profitability, intermodal & regional growth and upselling of all products Regular analysis of customer performance and internal reporting and escalation as required Tracking the business to ensure delivery of budget expectations Extensive UK travel and some overseas travel maybe required Timely and accurate processing of tenders, with on-going monitoring Collaborating with Trade, wider sales team and supporting business units Collaboration with Import Customer Service Managers and staff to ensure “end to end” co-operation within Import Department and other departments of the Company. Proactive client contact to promote relationships and update on new services and products in line with overall strategy Meet agreed KPI’s and expectations with key contacts Promote and maintain MSC services in conjunction with MSC UK and MSC Geneva and communicate this to internal and external departments Analyse, present and report information and statistics to MSC UK, MSC Geneva and customers as required and to deadline Contribute to a positive work climate through a flexible attitude to work, supporting colleagues and living MSC's brand values Improve customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent customer service Maximise business efficiency within an embedded risk, safety and compliance culture Manage individual performance, instigating and implementing improvement plans to create a high-performance culture Business Development across current and new clients to MSC.
