Main duties of the job As aGynaecology Consultantworking in aOne-Stop Clinic you will haveseveral key responsibilities, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education. Their main duties include: 1. Patient Assessment & Diagnosis Conductingcomprehensive consultationswith patients referred for gynaecological concerns. Taking detailedmedical historiesand performingclinical examinations. Interpretingultrasound scans,blood tests, andbiopsy resultsas part of a rapid diagnostic process. Identifying and diagnosingcommon gynaecological conditions, such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, abnormal bleeding, and pelvic pain. 2. Performing Outpatient Procedures Carrying outcolposcopies,hysteroscopies,endometrial biopsies, andultrasound-guided procedures. Providingminor surgical interventionswhen necessary. Conductingloop excisions (LLETZ/LEEP) for abnormal cervical smears. 3. Treatment & Management Planning Formulatingimmediate management plansfor patients, often on the same day. Initiating medical treatments such ashormonal therapy, contraception, and menopause management. Referring forfurther surgical interventionif needed, such as myomectomy, laparoscopy, or hysterectomy. 4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration Working alongsidespecialist nurses, HCA's, radiologists, and oncologistsfor an integrated care approach. Referring patients tofertility specialists, urogynaecologists, or oncology servicesif necessary.
