The Private Patients and Overseas Visitors department has two primary functions. Harrogate Harlow is a private medical facility that is operated by Harrogate and District NHS FT. It provides outpatient and inpatient medical and surgical treatment and a range of diagnostics to patients that may be self-funding treatment or have private insurance. The profits made from this enterprise are then reinvested in NHS services.
The team is also responsible for the identification of Overseas Visitors and to establish whether they have the right to free health services, or whether they are obligated to pay for their treatment. The team will then engage with the patient to ascertain how they intend to pay for their treatment.
