Introduction
I am a young man in my early 20’s with a learning disability. My speech is not always clear. I need assistance to build up my communication skills.
I enjoy playing games on my tablet, I like walking to the town centre, shopping and taking the bus, I prefer to use the bus in the afternoon. I attend a regular program to build up my work skills. I need support to the group and back home. I attend the Group from 9:30 am every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Collection is at 3:15 pm. I also need support for outings, to access the community. Alternatively social support to be provided at home, help to build up my speech and help with social interaction.
Duties
To support to attend social groups. Assisting to carry out a variety of activities in the wider community.
Provide support in and out of a car or other means of transport.
Acting as a driver/escort to social groups, appointments and recreational visits.
Hours
6 hours per week. The fixed days of support are on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Other support hours are flexible and to be arranged with myself.
Rate
£14.00 per hour
Essential Requirements
An understanding of social care.
Patience and good communication skills.
Physically fit and healthy to be able to adequately assist me.
DBS check and clear outcome at employer's request.
Desired Experience
Full Driving Licence (own car) & appropriate insurance.
