Head of Internal Communications Head of Internal Communications Flutter Entertainment plc – Group Head of Internal Communications The Role The Group Head of Internal Communications plays a pivotal role in creating, shaping and delivering Flutter’s global internal communications strategy in support of the company’s business objectives and growth ambitions. Reporting to the Group Internal Communications Director and a key member of the Group Corporate Communications team, this role will work in close partnership with the other Heads of Internal Communications across Flutter’s divisions and brands, to ensure alignment, where possible, across the strategy, any internal channels and initiatives, facilitate transparent communication, drive employee engagement and enhance the overall employee experience globally. This role would manage two direct reports – Internal Communication Managers - with scope to increase as the team evolves, should the need arise. This is a newly established team following an internal restructure, and this Head of role, will be pivotal in providing strategic input, as well as heading up the implementation and operation side. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the development and execution of Flutter’s global internal communications strategy, in collaboration with the Head of Internal Communications in other divisions, to inform, inspire and engage colleagues in Group Functions, divisions and brands, building pride in being part of Flutter as the US listed parent and global industry leader. Oversees the day to day running of the newly formed Internal Communications function, ensuring air traffic control and value-added internal communications support for our stakeholders, Collaborate with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, Flutter divisions and brands to create and deliver clear and impactful communications plans and campaigns, particularly for material news/regulatory announcements such as results, M&A, as well as global or multi-division people-focussed programs including the Positive Impact Plan, DEI and Reward. Provide communication counsel to the two Internal Communication Managers, developing them to create executive-level presentations, speeches, and announcements for internal audiences, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy. Craft clear, consistent, and compelling messages to communicate business updates, key initiatives, and leadership priorities through various channels Create high quality internal content, including newsletters, blogs, podcasts, and videos, ensuring consistency with Flutter’s brand voice. Develop and manage communication plans to support organizational change, ensuring employees understand the impact, rationale, and benefits of any changes. Serve as a senior point person for global/Group internal communications during crisis situations, ensuring that employees are informed in a timely and transparent manner. Work with the Head of Digital Communications Technology and Platforms to optimise Flutter’s internal communications channels and their content to maximise colleague engagement; ensure alignment with external channels including corporate website and social media Work with the Senior Global Events Manager and divisional IC leads on the planning and execution of internal events, such as town halls, employee recognition programs, and company-wide celebrations that reinforce culture and engagement. Implement and maintain feedback mechanisms, including surveys, focus groups, and employee forums, to understand and act on employee sentiments and concerns. Work with the People function to adapt Peakon surveys for greater internal communications feedback. Measure the effectiveness of internal communications efforts through analytics and feedback, and adjust strategies as needed to improve engagement and reach. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across different functions, divisions and geographies to facilitate efficient and impactful internal communications programs with engaging storytelling. Requirements 8 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or a related role, demontrateable experience in a leaderhip role. Strategic thinker with strong project management – able to align communications with organizational goals and objectives. Proven experience partnering with senior executives and CEOs Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills with an ability to build relationships and trust across departments. Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and adjusting strategies based on new information and changing conditions. Demonstrated understanding of employee needs, motivations, and concerns, with the ability to craft empathetic communications. Business Acumen: decision making, commercial awareness and Industry knowledge Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. Familiarity with change management principles and experience communicating during periods of organizational change. Previous experience leading on internal communications for results, M&A and issues and crisis management Proficiency with internal communication tools and platforms, including intranets, collaboration tools and content management systems.
