As a Pattern Cutter & Grader, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of products from pattern cutting to development and production. You will collaborate closely with the Technical Manager and Sample Machinist to develop products ready for manufacturing. In addition, you will work with the production teams to improve product quality at every stage and leverage our resource planning software, Galaxius, to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create pattern constructions and grading on a wide variety of products & styles
* Develop patterns from sketches or basic blocks adhering to customer specifications
* Modify and adjust basic blocks for new styles and shapes requested by customers
* Create grading and creating size charts for various styles and products
* Adjust patterns based on customer feedback
* Attending and contributing to fit meetings
* Operate Vetigraph our CAD systems
* Understand the manufacturing process from start to finish
* Digitise paper patterns and input information into Vetigraph to prepare products for manufacturing
* Support the sample-making process, ensuring quality standards and measurement guidelines are met
* Assist the Technical Manager in creating operations, size charts, trim sheets, and other essential production documents
* Create marker patterns for all production and sample-making
* Maintain the style file database and product library, including archives
* Identify solutions to improve the pattern construction process and overall manufacturing efficiency
* Collaborate with the cutting and production teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality garments
Required Systems Knowledge:
* Vetigraph Cad System
* Galaxius CMT system (training provided)
* Microsoft Office
* Adobe Creative Suite (not essential)
Experience & Skills:
* Proven experience in pattern cutting and garment construction/manufacturing
* Strong technical knowledge and interest in textiles
* Good understanding of fit, movement and body proportions
* Keen eye for proportion, detail, and garment quality
* Experience working with a wide range of products, including outerwear, jeans, and jersey
* Familiarity with fabrics, fusing, and accessories

* Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Clear communicator with excellent client servicing skills
Additional Information:
We welcome applications from candidates seeking either contract or permanent roles, available part-time or full-time (minimum 28 hours per week). The factory operates on a 4-day work week Monday to Thursday.
