Position Overview:
As a Battery Test Engineer at EVBS, you'll be at the forefront of developing and optimizing our cutting-edge battery test processes. In this role, you'll be empowered to:

* Collaborate: Work closely with internal and external partners to develop scalable, cost-efficient manufacturing techniques and processes for EV battery technology.
* Document: Maintain accurate records of test procedures and results, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Battery Testing: Develop and implement testing procedures to evaluate battery pack performance, including functionality, capacity, state of health, charge/discharge capability, internal resistance evaluation, and thermal stability.
* Data Analysis: Conduct diagnostic tests and analyze test data using statistical and data analysis tools to ensure battery reliability and safety. Generate reports to communicate findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
* Failure Investigation: Perform battery pack disassembly and teardown, conduct failure mode analysis, and root cause analysis. Propose corrective and preventative actions using structured problem-solving techniques like DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W), and Eight Disciplines (8D), ensuring processes operate efficiently.
* Software Integration: Develop and integrate software tools/scripts to automate and control test environments (e.g., using Vector tools, MATLAB, Simscape, Python, or LabVIEW).
* Technology Evaluation: Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing equipment and tools to enhance remanufacturing capabilities. Support the development of technologies through testing and modeling for repair, remanufacture, and refurbishing activities. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source new equipment and technology as needed.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all remanufacturing activities. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the work environment.
* Collaboration: Work with external and internal partners to develop scalable, cost-efficient manufacturing techniques and processes for EV battery technology. Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to achieve organizational goals.
* Documentation and Reporting: Document test procedures and transfer knowledge to key partners through technical design reviews. Maintain accurate documentation of test parameters, procedures, FMEAs, supporting production part approval process (PPAP) activities.
Qualifications:
* Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields preferred.
* 3+ years of experience in engineering, preferably in a remanufacturing or manufacturing environment.
* Strong technical expertise in battery technology including knowledge of battery chemistries, materials, manufacturing processes.
* Experience working on high-voltage electrical systems (up to 1500V DC).
* Proven track record of electrical product testing process optimization.
* Practical experience in battery manufacturing or repair component failure analysis, electrical testing, safety assessment, and risk analysis.
* Knowledge of lithium-ion battery testing methods electrical engineering principles of battery controls and test equipment.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools software applications.
* Experience with battery testing software CAD PLM software programming languages control automation software.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
* Effective communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels organization.
