Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Mechanical
Randstad Engineering are recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to work on a permanent basis at RAF Syerston in Newark on Trent (NG23 5NN).
This is a permanent role paying GBP32,527 per annum, working 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday (day shift).
The Role
We are looking for an individual capable of leading and supervising engineering personnel, conducting maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and other locations across the UK.
Responsibilities
1. Fulfill the responsibilities and duties of Support Staff with Supervisory Responsibilities in accordance with Serco GMS policies and military regulatory policies.
2. Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on Viking and other contract-related aircraft at RAF Syerston and 2 Flying Training School (FTS) locations/Volunteer Gliding Squadrons (VGSs)/detachments across the UK.
3. Manage, supervise, and participate in aircraft activities, including ground movement and preparation for transportation.
4. Lead, manage, supervise, and control assigned maintenance teams.
5. Optimize output to meet business needs and demonstrate commitment to Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement.
The ideal candidate will
1. Be experienced in a similar engineering background with a minimum of MOD Phase 2 technical training or suitable civilian training (civilian contractors only).
2. Have proven experience or potential to hold support staff with supervisory responsibilities.
3. Possess good fault diagnosis skills, demonstrating a thorough understanding of aircraft systems.
4. Hold a full driving licence.
