We’re opening a brand-new Youth Club in Southey, North Sheffield,
and we’re looking for Youth Workers to help bring it to life!
Our Youth Workers will play a key role in the development of the new
Youth Hub. You will be part of our team of Youth Workers and
volunteers, led by a Youth Work Coordinator.
Our goal is for every young person to grow in confidence, leading to
improved mental health, a stronger sense of well-being, and a sense
of empowerment and belonging. You will create and manage weekly
sessions that provide young people with opportunities to engage in
positive activities. You will encourage them to build supportive links
with each other and their community.
Additionally, you will share your personal, creative, and social skills to
help children and young people unlock their full potential. You will
create a safe and supportive environment where children and young
people learn to:
1. Treat themselves and others with kindness and respect.
2. Discover exciting new ideas and activities.
3. Have fun, play, laugh, learn, experiment, make mistakes and thrive.
4. Grow into motivated, positive, resilient and caring citizens.
Job title: Sessional Youth Worker
Reports to: Youth Hub Coordinator
Contract type: Fixed term contract, 6 months initially with a view to extend
Note: further funding is actively being sought to secure this as a permanent post.
Location: 11 Southey Hill, Sheffield, S5 8BB.
Hours: 3 hrs 30 mins per session, you can apply for up to 4 sessions.
Practical Requirements: Minimum 2 max 4 face-to-face evening or weekend sessions
per week.
Salary: £29,515 – £31,259 (pro-rata) depending on experience
£52.64 to £55.72 per session.
