Having recently taken on the ownership of Dorchester Vets4Pets, Jordan and Lauren are now looking for another vet colleague to join our growing team!
The practice is purpose built with some great facilities including operating theatre, 2 dedicated consult rooms, a nurse consult room/x-ray room, as well as all the kit you’d expect from a solid GP practice including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, full multi-parameter monitoring equipment and other essentials. We’re also happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest.
You’ll be joining us at a very exciting time, where our brilliant team are forging new ideas for developing the practice further and providing the best levels of service and care we can, to our loyal and growing client base.
You’ll be working alongside Jordan our Clinical Lead and Practice Owner, our experienced part time vet, as well as a four strong, experienced, and forward-thinking nursing team including Lauren, RVN, Practice Manager and Owner and three incredible receptionists.
Jordan qualified from Liverpool in 2017 and as well as developing his surgical and medicine skills, has since developed a keen interest in exotics and is currently completing a Certificate in Advance Veterinary Practice in Zoological Medicine.
As a new team, we’re looking for a vet with great communication skills who will be confident with routine neutering, procedures and emergency and critical care. Confidence with periods of sole charge is ideal, though this would not be a regular part of the rota. This is a full or part time role, with no out-of-hours and no weekends - we will provide as much flexibility with working hours as possible to find the work-life balance that suits you.
Our days are structured well with 15-minute consults as standard and time taken for lunch and admin, factored into the day. We meet regularly as a team every 4 to 6 weeks with an open and flexible approach the rest of the time.
What we’re offering:
1. Salary of £40,000 to £65,000 FTE, commensurate with experience
2. 5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time)
3. RCVS and VDS memberships are paid as well as the opportunity to have one other membership paid.
4. Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary
5. Contributory Pension Scheme
6. Dedicated CPD allowance including support towards Certificates
7. Relocation Allowance
8. Cycle to Work Scheme
9. Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes – Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA
10. Exclusive company discounts and rewards through our reward hub– including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group
Not only are we offering a great role but the opportunity for a great lifestyle too! Our practice is situated in Dorchester in the heart of Dorset, close to idyllic beaches, dramatic coastlines and scenic walks. Dorchester and nearby Weymouth have vibrant social scenes and the area has good travel connections and ‘outstanding’ schools in the area - relocation package is available.
We want our colleagues to be as diverse as our clients. Our teams are inclusive and celebrate difference, so if you meet our role requirements, we’d love to hear from you.
Location: DT1 2RY
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
