Working Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri 8AM - 4PM)
Salary: £28,389 per annum
Location: Sale Rd, Norwich NR7 9TP
Please note that regular travel across Norfolk and Waveney will be required as part of the role.
Driver Requirements: Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.
Training: Mandatory training for this role takes place in Norwich, with training sessions running from 9am – 5pm over 4 separate dates.

Norfolk and Waveney Mind is looking for an Assurance Officer to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of services provided to individuals in our community. Role Overview
As an Assurance Officer, you will support the Assurance Manager in overseeing risk management, quality, compliance, and auditing processes across the Charity. You’ll provide key administrative support, help maintain high-quality standards, and ensure that health and safety practices comply with current legislation, all while making sure that service users receive the best possible care and support.
Core Responsibilities
Assurance Support:
1. Assist the Assurance Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks related to monitoring and maintaining quality standards within Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
2. Support the management and implementation of Audit and Compliance tools to ensure continuous quality improvement.
3. Record and engage in assurance meetings as required, ensuring accurate minutes and follow-up actions.
4. Help prepare monthly reports on compliments, complaints, incidents, and service quality.
5. Support the reporting of incidents to external stakeholders and partners in a timely and confidential manner.
6. Maintain accurate records to uphold national Mind Quality Standards and ensure the Mind Quality Mark (MQM) is met.
7. Assist with the administration of policies and procedures and provide support in internal investigations and inquest reports.
8. Deputise for the Assurance Manager during their absence, ensuring continued high standards of service delivery.
Health and Safety Support:
1. Assist in reviewing inspection findings and produce clear, accurate reports for relevant stakeholders.
2. Support incident and accident documentation, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis to help improve safety protocols.
3. Identify risk assessment requirements and communicate necessary information to Managers for timely action.
4. Support the Assurance Manager in ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including reporting under RIDDOR.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest HSE legislation and best practices in health and safety.
6. Provide specialist advice on areas like fire regulations, hazardous substances, and safeguarding machinery.
7. Assist in the smooth running of Health & Safety Committees and working groups within the organisation.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Excellent administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
2. A strong understanding of quality assurance, risk management, compliance, and auditing procedures.
3. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, and an interest in keeping up to date with relevant legislation.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
5. A proactive attitude, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
6. Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in the mental health or social care sectors, would be an advantage.
7. A willingness to learn and develop professionally within a supportive team environment.
