We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as a Medical Laboratory Assistant. KIMS Hospital in Maidstone is the largest independent hospital in Kent.
In this role you will be assisting in technical and clerical duties within our Specimen Reception and Laboratory areas whilst supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the Pathology Team.
Main duties of the job
* Provide multi-disciplinary support to the BMS staff in the delivery of a Pathology service that is efficient and fit for purpose
* Utilise manual and IT systems to ensure recording of specimens received and their analyses
* Clean and maintain equipment to standard laboratory procedures (SOPs) keeping appropriate records
* Support the laboratory accreditation to ISO15189 standards as required

Medical Laboratory Assistant | KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Full Time Permanent - 37.5 hours | Salary £22,500-£24,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – Rotating shift pattern 08:00-16:00 and 09.00-17:00, including Saturday: 08:00-13:00 when required.
Role Responsibilities include:

Person Specification:
* Have obtained GCSE’s in English, Maths and Science
* Be confident using and learning new IT systems
* Possess strong interpersonal skills with good communication skills both written and verbal.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting or laboratory (desirable)
