Job Description AFTERCAST OPERATIVE SOUTH QUEENSFERRY £29,370 DOE (INCLUDING SHIFT ALLOWANCE) 2 Shift Rotating Pattern: Morning: Monday to Thursday, 05:30 - 14:45 Afternoon: Monday to Thursday, 14:30 - 23:45 Progress Rail is looking to recruit an Aftercast Operative to assist in the through put of casting’s within the department in safe and timely manner. THE ROLE: As an Aftercast Operative you will be required to: Ensure that you work in a safe manner and adhere to all risk assessments and method statements associated with the relevant tasks. Facilitate the progress of casting through the department using the skills that you have been trained in e.g. Dressing, Welding, inspection, Knock off, Cutting, and Heat treatment Help the team achieve the desired targets each week. Operate in accordance with the company Quality Assurance System. Complete all required training to allow the job to be conducted safely. Ensure that all paperwork / route cards are completed in line with the quality procedures. Deliver any other reasonable requests as per company requirements. Work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures. Ensures the accurate use of the Time & Attendance systems. Respond professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never conceded. Is aware, and actively reduces the incident rate, of non-conforming errors within the team. Creates a “Clean-as-you-go” policy and maintains safe storage of castings in the department. Ensure plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects. Willingness to be trained in other production areas. Any other duties deemed reasonable by the business.
