This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate to join us as a Front-End Engineer working as part of a cross-disciplinary feature team designing and developing products that spans the full stack in support of our continued journey onto Cloud. What you’ll do Writing modular, well tested web applications that remain easy to maintain as the codebase and business continues to scale. Ensuring software is built in a way which is consistent with - and exploits where possible - the collective frameworks, patterns and practices that exist across the wider Engineering community. Understand and apply industry best practices, foster knowledge sharing to provide solutions for complex business problems where no precedent may exist and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate. Relentless focus on delivering business value through sound engineering methods Working alongside solution architects to help define designs Build efficient and reusable front-end systems and abstractions Identify and address quality/performance issues and implement engineering best practices Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, Engineers and DevOps Teams to build refine design, functionality, features and experiments Participate in design and process reviews and enhance the team’s capability. What you’ll need Demonstrable front end engineering expertise with strong experience of JavaScript and React Any exposure to NodeJS beneficial Strong experience of RESTful APIs and web services Experience of React / AngularJS frameworks would be desirable Exposure to microservice frameworks such as Springboot would be desirable Exposure to micro-front end and micro-service api design, event driven architecture would be beneficial Strong understanding of source code repositories and change management tools, Git. Experience of working with Docker or other containerisation technologies Experience of successfully implementing and using CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of agile development practices and test automation (Unit/Integration/E2E testing – Jest/Testing Library/Cucumber/Cypress). Experience with build processes and release automation (Azure/GCP Pipelines, Nexus). Familiarity with development aiding tools such as npm and webpack etc. is advantageous.
