Security Engineering Consultant
Location: London / Manchester

The Role
You will need to be a passionate, experienced, highly motivated professional with a passion for Security Engineering. Being a thought leader, while having a strong security operations or platform engineering background, working in large teams and will be comfortable in a client-facing role. Delivering innovative and effective security solutions for our clients, while also contributing to digital transformation strategies. You will work closely with clients to provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of security engineering. Responsible for assisting, designing and implementing effective security solutions that meet the unique needs of each client. While providing mentorship, leadership, and technical expertise to other engineers on the team.
You will have a deep understanding of current and emerging security technologies, as well as the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will lead security assessments, supporting development of security policies and procedures, and oversee the implementation of security controls to ensure the protection of critical assets.
Additionally, you will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
We are looking for experience in the following skills:
1. Comprehensive experience in vulnerability management and Tenable tooling.
2. A deep understanding of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus software, encryption, SIEM and authentication mechanisms with experience in implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting most of these technologies.
3. A broad knowledge of industry standards and best practices for security engineering. This includes standards such as ISO 27001, CAF, and NIST, as well as best practices for security architecture, risk assessment, and compliance.
4. A deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including network architecture, servers, storage, and cloud computing. Being experienced in designing and implementing secure infrastructure solutions.
5. A good understanding of business operations, including business processes, workflows, and systems. Being able to identify security risks and threats that may impact business operations and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks.
6. Experience in project management, including scoping, planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
