The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is responsible for the delivery of health services to more than 600,000 people in South East Wales. The Grange University Hospital in Llanfrechfa deals with all major emergencies and treats and cares for those needing complex, specialist, or critical care. It includes a 24-hour Emergency Department and Assessment Unit dealing with emergencies and resuscitation cases and has a broad range of diagnostic services, operating theatres, and a consultant-led obstetric unit. C4 is a specialised 31 soon to be 39 bedded unit caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. It comprises of 6 monitored high care beds within the critical care unit which delivers intensive nursing care.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Respiratory team on Ward C4 at The Grange University Hospital. Applicants are invited from those who hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualifications and those with previous experience in an acute setting.
The successful candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The willingness and ability to work in a constantly changing environment is also an essential requirement.
Main duties of the job
The HCSW will provide high quality, consistent and cost-effective health care for patients with acute physical and psychological needs. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high quality person-centred care.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and other professionals. You must be an excellent team player, have high levels of motivation and enthusiasm for working in a demanding but rewarding service. You will be joining a team that is passionate and focused on achieving excellence in care delivery for all patients in this area of specialised nursing.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
