We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
You will report to the Cash Manager whilst working in a busy cash team responsible for recording all cash transactions. You will be completing reconciliations (high volumes of transactions are auto-matched) and investigating unreconciled data and queries.
You will process BACS transactions on a daily basis, ensuring confidentiality and compliance to company policies whilst handling sensitive data. You will have the opportunity to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels as part of this role.

What will you be accountable for?
* Maintain Cashbooks including daily bank journals and reconciliations
* Processing and allocating payments including BACS, CHAPS, Cheques, and Direct Debits
* Liaising with customers and banks on receipts and payments including raising customer refunds by cheque and Direct Credits
* Processing files received from banks, DCA, and other financial organizations
* Investigation and resolution of suspense account items including customer missing payment and cheque traces
* Working with the Customer Services Teams to resolve customer queries on missing payments
What do you bring to the role?
* GCSEs including Maths and English at grades C/4 or higher
* Bookkeeping knowledge and experience is essential
* Part AAT Qualification would be advantageous
* A good communicator with people at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to payments, reconciliations, or discrepancies.
* Good with Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and work to deadlines.
* Understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality with financial information.
