Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pre-transplant administrator within the Renal Department based at Salford Royal Hospital. The post will support our clinical teams managing patients within the chronic kidney disease through their pathway to listing for transplantation surgery. You will join the team to support with administrative duties including co-ordination of correspondence, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, supporting preparation of papers for meetings, and acting as key point of contact for the CKD service. We are looking for an individual with a positive outlook, who has previous administrative experience, is self motivated and able to manage their own workload, work in a confidential manner and liaise with external stakeholders. You will have the ability to use word, excel and outlook, be willing to develop your skills to work in a fast paced environment and be flexible in your approach. Main duties of the job Provide general, non-clinical advice, information and guidance, directly to patients, clients, relatives and carers. Liaise with secretaries and other healthcare professionals regarding patient referrals and investigations. Organise appropriate appointments for tests and investigations for suitability and compatibility to undergo transplantation surgery. To obtain and sort results and investigations relevant to transplant work up and to input into appropriate databases. Responsibility for directly receiving patients, checking all patient demographic details are complete and updated on Patient Centre. Provide general non-clinical advice, information and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives and carers.Liaise with secretaries and other healthcare professionals regarding patient referrals and investigations. Checking, packaging and sending blood samples to MFT. Collating of information and results, to support referral documentation to transplant centre. Support the CKD team with actions arising from MDT meetings.
