An exciting opportunity has arisen within our proactive Pain Management & Acupuncture Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic experienced and highly motivated clinical nurse specialist with passion for Acupuncture to deliver a safe and effective outpatient Acupuncture service, working alongside with our dedicated Pain Consultants to deliver a high-quality Acupuncture and Pain Management service across both Chelsea and Sutton sites. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and clinical skills, with certified Acupuncture qualification and ability to work autonomously when required.
You would need to demonstrate leadership and management skills as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Acupuncture.
Main duties of the job
1. This role will enable you to develop skills and knowledge within the Acupuncture and Pain Management Services with an aim to develop skills and knowledge within the Acupuncture
2. This role will involve managing and developing a high quality Acupuncture and Pain Management Clinic alongside the Pain Consultants.
3. The nurse will be responsible and accountable for the management of those patients he/she treats and refers/discharges in collaboration with the consultants, and working within established protocols and contributing to continued development, audit and education.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
4. To support clinical care, by managing a patient caseload, with supervision, demonstrating assessment, planning, evaluation and support skills in all aspects of acupuncture and pain management and related care.
5. Work closely and in collaboration with all other members of the Acupuncture and Pain Management Service acting as a role model for clinical staff.
6. Together with the Junior CNS, liaise and co-ordinate with the consultants to provide a comprehensive acupuncture and pain service for patients. This involves undertaking treatments in acupuncture as an autonomous practitioner and to recognise limitations and seek advice and support from the multidisciplinary team as required.

8. Evidence of ongoing professional development

9. Qualification in oncology or speciality
10. Diploma or Degree level study (or equivalent)
11. Recognised teaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
12. Experience in intravenous drug administration
13. Sufficient post registration nursing experience in oncology or speciality to be confident and competent in using the required skills to do the job
Desirable criteria
14. Experience in acupuncture administration
15. Experience in Clinical Management
16. Evidence of relevant teaching experience
17. Knowledge and understanding of clinical trials management

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
