What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will enhance the company’s manufacturing capabilities, leading a large team of supervisors and technicians. You will be responsible for manufacturing, H&S, quality, facilities, supply chain and tooling. You will be responsible for managing facilities, operating processes and systems, as well as planning and scheduling workflows while coordinating with other departments to ensure deadlines, technical specifications, documentation and quality standards are met.
Your day to day might look a little like this:
* Support design for manufacturing efforts by collaborating with teams in engineering, programme management, finance, and business development
* Establish world-class manufacturing processes, building a knowledge base that will support future program proposals
* Support of the DFM processes alongside engineering leading the communication of manufacturing requirements
* Leadership of tooling methods, specification and supplier agreements alongside the engineering department
* Develop and maintain traceability and build records allowing manufacturing data to be easily collated, retrieved and interrogated
* A strong understanding of MRP systems related to small batch manufacture with high-value products. Scheduling and transacting works orders
A bit about you
Ideally, you’ll be based in the UK.
You’ll have 7+ years’ experience in a similar position with a proven track-record in manufacturing of low to medium volume electro-mechanical products with high technical content.
A few other key skills our client is looking for:
* Strong manufacturing/production background supported with a degree in a Manufacturing related subject
* Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with a strong drive for success.
* Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise effectively
* Able to present complex ideas and solutions to peer group, senior management and customers
* Build high performance teams who can operate accurately, efficiently, effectively, flexibly, productively and within budget
* Energetic, positive and enthusiastic with an ability to think laterally and act through reasoned decision making
