Job Title: Assistant Fabric Developer at COS
As an Assistant Fabric Developer at COS, you will be responsible for visualizing, structuring, and coordinating the material strategy, as well as execution through an organized and user-friendly material library, purpose-built material boards, and a high-quality material database. You should have a passion for fabrics, be well-organized, and assist the Fabric Developers with coordination and administrative tasks throughout the fabric sourcing and development process. This role involves close collaboration with the Fabric Developers and other teams in buying, design, and production to support and coordinate various sourcing tasks.
What you will do:
1. Support in visualizing the material strategy physically and digitally by building fabric boards, hanger rails, reports, dashboards, and maintaining them regularly to accurately represent the collection.
2. Assist in executing the material strategy and follow up on material booking utilization and plan results.
3. Conduct local London research and sourcing, including substituting fabrics for testing and swatching in-house.
4. Support Fabric Developers with coordination, administration, and tasks during sourcing and development, from material development to planning sourcing weeks and fabric fairs.
5. Ensure smooth communication and record-keeping across teams and suppliers by maintaining transparent and up-to-date records on material specifications, testing, and approvals, ensuring all relevant teams have the necessary information.

What you need to succeed:
* Experience as an assistant fabric developer or coordinator, preferably within a premium brand.
* Knowledge of apparel, materials, and components; experience in a global supply chain is a plus.
* Strong understanding of customer aesthetics and a genuine passion for COS.
* A customer-centric mindset and enthusiasm for the fashion industry.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Understanding of sustainable fashion, material innovation, and product development.
* Team-oriented and an inspiring communicator.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment.
