A triple-office, international dedicated Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Hillsborough, Northern Ireland, are actively looking for a Structural Engineer with at least 5+ years' experience to join the company.
The company were founded in and have grown to over 50 staff in their Head Office just 20km outside Belfast and are seeking to add another Structural Engineer to their very strong design team. The company have an excellent reputation both locally and in England and a very varied project-sector portfolio, which spans from multi-storey Residential schemes through to Heritage projects and even heavy Civils-based works including Rail and Tunnelling.
Most notably, the company are home to Northern Ireland's sole marker for the IStructE exam and the company can help to aid and mentor any Engineers actively pursuing Chartership in a way that other companies may struggle to.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Structural Engineer:
1. Project Design
2. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
3. Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including Architects and Contractors
4. Developing and solving design problems
5. Identifies discrepancies in results.
6. Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
7. Responsible for elements of Project Delivery
8. Responsible for elements of Project Quality Assurance
9. Contribute to Company Objectives by achieving individual KPIs as laid out by line manager.
Requirements of a Structural Engineer:
10. Minimum 2:1 degree in related engineering or associated technical degree
11. Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in a consultancy environment
12. Writing of engineering reports
13. Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
14. Ability with specific computer software for developing detailed designs.
15. Undertaking and understanding complex calculations
16. Knowledge of legal requirements
17. Experience of project Health and safety requirements
18. Experience of the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
19. Experience of wider project issues
A salary of £36, - £45, (depending on specific experience) is available for the right candidate, plus benefits including 31 days holiday (including bank holidays) and the ability to buy and sell up to 10 holidays per year, a 5% employer-matched pension scheme, a health cash plan involving eyecare and dental cover as well as an opt-in healthcare plan too.
