Job summary
The Emergency Department at NNUH is seeking to recruit highly dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Health Care Assistants. The NNUH hosts the busiest Emergency Department in the East of England seeing over 140,000 patients every year.
This role is key in continuing our #JourneytoOutstanding and ensuring that patients are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an individual with excellent communication skills who is capable of providing the highest possible standard of patient care. You'll work within a varied Multi-disciplinary Team, playing a vital part in ensuring a safe, timely and effective patient experience.
Main duties of the job
* Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care.
* To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
* This post offers an opportunity to work with a diverse multidisciplinary team and for development; support from our Practice Education team and a bespoke Induction Package, working in different areas as part of orientation to understand how the department works.

Job responsibilities
* To accurately and promptly carry out the instructions of the Registered Nurse who is professionally accountable for the delivery of care.
* To deliver care and carry out duties as specified within the Trust's Approved core task list for Healthcare assistants.
* To report to the Registered Nurse any patient who gives cause for concern or any observed changes in the patient's condition.
* To respond appropriately to clinical emergencies to ensure the patient receives appropriate care.
* To participate in the admission process under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
