The Trauma and Orthopaedic service at MTW is expanding due to the opening of the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre, a state-of-the-art unit for patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery. This presents an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the team and contribute to providing a high standard of service for both Trauma and elective patients across Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone hospital sites. You will be supported in gaining specialist clinical skills, being involved in service development projects and developing your supervisory skills by supporting others.
This post requires cross site working and will offer an opportunity for flexible working across 7 days.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be able to work in a fast paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills and have experience of an acute hospital setting.

Essential criteria
1. Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapy
2. HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
3. Member of Professional Body
4. Member of special interest group
5. Post-graduate training in relevant short courses
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Post qualification experience in a physical setting
7. Evidence of personal and professional development
8. Experience in working as part of an MDT
9. Experience of leading and influencing others, including OT colleagues
10. Experience in leading and contributing to Audit
11. Experience in service improvement
12. An understanding of common medical, and surgical conditions, care of the elderly, neurology, trauma and orthopaedics
13. Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurology, care of the elderly conditions in an inpatient setting
