MIG Welder Roles & Responsibilities As a MIG Welder, you will play a pivotal role in fabricating and welding bespoke heavy structural components. Your key responsibilities include: Reading and interpreting technical fabrication drawings. Performing complex MIG welding operations, including butt and fillet welds on heavy gauge materials. Experience with turntables, rollers & multi-run welds. Conducting visual quality inspections to meet strict customer specifications. Using tools such as band saws, presses, and gas-cutting equipment. Ensuring production targets and lead times are met while minimising rework. Adhering to health, safety, and quality standards within the factory environment. Supporting smooth factory operations by assisting with general duties as required. MIG Welder Requirements A minimum of 3 years of MIG welding and heavy structural steel fabrication experience. Ability to work independently from technical drawings on custom, non-repetitive projects. Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail. Confidence in meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes (preferred but not essential).
