Job summary Colliery Court Medical Group are recruiting a Medical Receptionist to join our very busy reception team to provide a friendly, efficient, effective and helpful service to the practice population. We are looking for: 1x post of 30 hours per week over 4 days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) shift patterns 8.30am - 5pm, 9am - 5.30pm, 9.30am - 6pm. OR 2 x part-time 15 hour posts to make up to the 30 hours per week. You will also be required to participate in the extended hours rota from 18:00 until 20:00 on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, approximately once per month. You will be the first contact our patients, visitors, third party organisations will have with our practice, so you must be friendly, approachable, empathetic, efficient and an excellent communicator. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will: Provide a friendly and efficient front desk reception service Answer and make telephone calls, sending texts and emails Book appointments in line with the practice protocol Signpost patients to attached services Deal with patient queries in person, on the telephone, via email and online Process requests for repeat medication Open incoming mail Process data including changes to patients details etc. Scan and import hospital letters, results and other correspondence Provide general assistance to the practice team Project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors either in person or on the telephone EMIS web and GP Practice experience beneficial but not essential About us Colliery Court Medical Group is a well-established, supportive, forward thinking, GMS practice in Boldon Colliery.
