The Business-to-Business Sales Manager will have responsibility for identifying and developing Sales opportunities, activities and channels with and through a variety of partnership organisations and groups in an identified geographic area, to deliver ambitious customer growth targets across our Domestic customer base.
Reporting to the Senior Operational and Client Services Manager, the Business to Business Sales Manager will manage a team of Telesales Account Managers to deliver our sales growth targets.
This will involve planning and co-ordination of their activities, reviewing performance on a regular basis against plans and targets. This role will focus on the Smart Meter & At Home Sales Channel.
The role holder will act as Principal Account Management contact for external partners, building relationships with Senior Managers across our external partners and supporting them to deliver their contractual obligations to ScottishPower. The post holder will be able to influence and negotiate with these partners with the support of the Sales Development Manager & Head of Sales.
The role holder will also have responsibility for the execution and delivery of the operating plan through development of close working relationships with internal Senior Management and relevant key stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
* Deliver Operating Plans to recruit new Domestic Sales opportunities and partnerships that will enable the channel to achieve its respective sales, financial, quality, and compliance targets through the agreement of stretch targets and objectives with the Account Management Team.
* Look for growth opportunities through each of the Business to Business partnerships, and through the establishment of new partners, push for increased sales delivery.
* Deliver success through the effective management of key business drivers, i.e. KPI's, Cost, Retained/Gained Volumes, Customer Numbers, and budgets within the designated areas.
* Deliver sales targets and objectives, in line with the Sales Plan for each area, and hence deliver divisional targets including improved margins, within designated areas.
* Provide clear guidance and be the local point of contact for any business looking to contract with Scottish Power for Domestic sales.
* Initiate and complete complex negotiations, within agreed parameters to win business from industry competitors with Domestic & SME partners, at Director/Owner Level.
* Account management of all partners on a frequent basis, reviewing performance and costs against targets with the Management team.
* Establish & maintain reporting & controls for ongoing monitoring of performance, including sales quality & compliance, of all new business partnerships and opportunities in your territory.
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory commitments, and effectively manage customer contracts in line with ScottishPower guidelines.
* Lead all staff through the issues created within a continuously changing environment, encouraging others to change through leading by example.
* Lead and motivate the Telesales Team, influence employee turnover and retention, and maintain at acceptable levels.
* Manage all controllable costs, at a local level within agreed budget constraints.
What you'll bring
* Strong influencing and stakeholder management ability with excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Highly numerate and analytical.
* Commercial with a strong focus on margin optimisation.
* Sales focused, strong understanding of the value of service and customer engagement.
* Line management experience in a Sales, Business or Project Management role.
* In-depth understanding of Outsourced Sales including Affinity Partnerships, external Call Centre operations and Face to Face sales channels.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant numerical discipline or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of the Smart Meter install programme.
