Calibrations Technician – South East
A leading provider of construction testing, inspection, consultancy, and compliance services is seeking an experienced Calibrations Technician to join the team. Our client supports all sectors of the UK construction market with comprehensive and bespoke testing services.
Job Summary
As a Calibrations Technician, you will play a crucial role in the Calibrations division, supporting a wide range of calibration services across various industries, including construction, automotive, and aerospace. You will be responsible for managing calibration processes, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high-quality service delivery. This position reports to the Calibrations Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support daily calibration operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal procedures
2. Conduct on-site calibrations to meet industry standards and client requirements
3. Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot equipment failures
4. Conduct regular audits to maintain quality standards and UKAS accreditation
5. Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing queries and ensuring satisfaction
6. Complete job cards, equipment reports, and calibration certificates
7. Maintain calibration equipment and supplies inventory
Person Specification
Must Haves
1. Proven experience in managing calibration services or similar technical operations
2. Understanding of calibration principles and metrology standards
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ideal to Have
1. Familiarity with the construction or manufacturing sectors
2. Experience with maintaining UKAS accreditation standards (BS EN ISO / IEC 17025:2017)
3. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently
Additional Requirements
1. Ideally based in the southeast, with the ability to work from home or an office in Billericay.
2. Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site calibrations
3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or GED (minimum)
2. Relevant industry certification
3. At least 3 years of experience as a calibration technician
