Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Band 4 Joiner on behalf of our client the NHSCT, Antrim
* Hourly Rate: £14.11, in addition holiday hours accrued and paid
* Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm, 37 ½ hrs each week
* Duration: 3 months then reviewed
* Location: Antrim

Role:
The postholder will be a member of the Estate Services Department in Antrim Hospital.
The postholder will be responsible for the provision of joinery services, including the transportation of materials and equipment.
The postholder may be required to work occasional overtime to meet the needs of the service.
Criteria:
* Applicants must possess a recognised and registered building CITB apprenticeship
AND
* 4 years post apprenticeship experience spent on the maintenance of complex buildings.
* Certified on the Construction Skills Register or other approved technical qualification(s)
* Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post
Duties:
* Carrying out day to day operational maintenance duties for all Carpentry & Joinery jobs
* Work as an integral part of an operational maintenance team and have through practical knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance, with particular emphasis on work related to repair and upkeep pf older property
* Be able to work on His/Her own on occasions with minimum supervision
* Carry out duties to a high standard and quality
* Under take all Training deemed necessary for the Trust & the post, attend all events as organised by the Planning Supervisor.
* Demonstrate knowledge of H&S practices in particular in the use of materials (including Hazardous substances)
* Demonstrate Knowledge of working with woodworking machinery/equipment and responsibility for the security and maintenance of the machines.
* Maintain the trust COSHH Register
* Observe Statutory and other relevant requirement, in particular those relating to Health & Safety.
* Be capable of working at reasonable heights above ground,
* Maintain registers for and effectively use ladders, scaffolds, steps and fall arrest equipment
* Continually monitor job issued by Planning supervisor on Micad building management system
* Risks assess jobs issued on devices prior to commencing job.
* Feedback details of all tasks completed on Micad
* Be aware of Asbestos risk and register
* Under take all Training deemed necessary for the NHS & the post, attend all events as organised by the Planning Supervisor.
* Participate in Labour Management schemes
* Participate in the provision of an on-call rota system, in accordance with locally negotiated agreement
* Participate in the Trusts KSF appraisals,
* Other duties as may be determined in accordance with the grading & responsibility of the post
