We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Governance and Compliance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of governance, risk management and compliance within the organisation. This role is critical in ensuring that our services meet regulatory requirements and adhere to the best practices in the mental health sector.

Key responsibilities:
1. Lead and advise all areas of the organisation on the understanding and application of all relevant healthcare governance and compliance, including, but not limited to the CQC, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Clinical and general governance.
2. Lead the Governance and Compliance team to drive and ensure strict adherence to all such compliance and governance standards.
3. Assess, mitigate, monitor, measure, and report on risks impacting Clinical Partners.
4. Analyse and coordinate the management of potential risks arising from changes in legislation, regulation, or business practice.
5. Lead the process to raise risk awareness among employees.
6. Lead and be responsible for the Governance and Compliance team.
7. Maintain and update compliance registers.
8. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of associated company policies and procedures.
9. Report to the Board, SLT and SMT on all aspects of risk, compliance and governance.
10. Responsibility to conduct risk assessments of new business proposals in line with healthcare requirements.
11. Manage specific risk and compliance projects.
Requirements:
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
2. Demonstrable experience of working in a healthcare environment, regulated by the CQC, at a senior level in a Compliance and Governance role.
3. Working knowledge of the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
4. Experience in leading and managing a Governance and Compliance team.
5. Knowledge of quality assurance principles and standards.
6. Excellent knowledge and understanding of CQC regulations and NICE guidelines.
7. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices.
Remuneration and Benefits:
This role is a full-time, remote role with occasional travel to attend departmental and NHS meetings.
