Cover Supervisor/Unqualified Teacher required for in a specialist setting in Leeds. You will be responsible for supervising and managing students in the absence of their regular Teacher. The setting typically caters to post 16 students who are on a semi formal learning pathway, they have a variety of needs including Autism, SLD and other complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee students during lessons, ensuring they remain on task and engaged with their work, following the lesson plan provided by the absent teacher.
- Apply appropriate behavioural strategies to ensure students' behaviour remains positive, ensuring they follow the rules and are respectful to peers and staff.
- Assist students with individual or group tasks, offer academic support and help reinforce instructions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A degree or relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields is beneficial.
- Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable (e.g., autism, learning disabilities, behavioural difficulties).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse classroom dynamics and individual student needs.
- Confidence in supervising and engaging students.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to work with students facing various challenges.
- Ability to quickly adapt to different classroom settings and individual needs.
- A passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
