As Senior Capital Equipping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the Trust’s capital equipping strategy, while also leading the Oriel Equipping Workstream—a landmark project that will establish a world-leading centre for eye care, research, and education ( Collaborating with University College London (UCL) and Moorfields Eye Charity (MEC), you will oversee the procurement and seamless delivery of essential medical technology, specialist equipment, and key resources, ensuring Oriel is equipped to drive ophthalmic innovation for generations to come.

· Lead, influence and be responsible for the Oriel Equipment Workstream with strategic oversight and guidance from the Chief Commercial Officer. Working with and supporting all Workstream members to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently and within expected timelines.
· To provide high-level advice and guidance on equipping related queries to Oriel stakeholders. Working with the Trust equipment advisor, senior EBME lead and clinical stakeholders.
· Develop an equipping strategy for Oriel with support from the Trust equipment advisor, ensuring all stakeholders are consulted, with delivery and procurement timelines reflected.
· Develop and continuously review Terms of Reference (ToR), workstream membership and reporting, in partnership with the Trust equipment advisor and Oriel project managers
· Develop and ensure clear reporting structures, in partnership with the project managers. Developing and presenting reporting timelines for all related project committees and boards.
· Oversight and Management of the agreed equipping budgets and develop options for reporting on progress, in partnership with the Trust finance lead and relevant project managers.
·Identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation and sustainability.
· Liaise with all members of the internal and external project teams and the stakeholders to manage the flow of information and achieve project outcomes.
· Work with selected procurement partners and ensure the effective sourcing of equipment, whilst ensuring governance arrangements are in place and followed, to ensure adherence to Trust SFIs and UK procurement law.
· Provide specialist advice on equipment procurement and commissioning issues, including use of appropriate Frameworks and procurement processes.
· Manage the utilisation of project resources, monitor and report their impact.
· Lead and oversee the logistics management for the receipt and delivery of equipment for capital projects.
· Identify and develop further equipping opportunities for all new project proposals, making use of productivity data collected from previous projects to ensure sustainable improvements.
· Manage the pipeline of upcoming capital projects with equipping requirements. Collaboratively pre-planning procurement activity to maximise effectiveness.
· Develop, implement, monitor and regularly review procurement strategies for capital projects. Use spend analysis, market analysis and stakeholder engagement to optimise strategies and ensure continual improvement and innovation in service delivery.
· Provide strong and effective business management support, directly influencing capital equipping expenditure.
· Work with the Senior Commercial Business Partner and Head of EBME to maximise contract compliance across any capital equipment purchases, including related maintenance and consumables.
· Use highly developed persuasion and influencing skills to engage with and influence key stakeholders at all levels to facilitate participation in capital equipping procurement activity.
· Foster and encourage with enthusiasm, excellent project management, supporting the development of a ‘culture of understanding’ within the organisation. To ensure the benefits of capital equipping strategies are understood.
· Develop and implement innovative supplier solutions to achieve sustainable cost improvements whilst enabling high quality care to patients and service users.
· Oversee and guide the procurement of any major and/or strategic contracts, working collaboratively with the key stakeholders and procurement service to discuss and decide the best approach to ensure effective use of Trusts funds.
· Support stakeholders in the development of specifications and evaluation criteria, in coordination with the Trust equipment advisor and procurement service.
· Develop effective supplier partnership and relationship strategies, to establish Moorfields Eye Hospital as the ‘Customer of Choice’ amongst ophthalmology suppliers.
· Actively participate, support and contribute to the relevant committees and groups, providing information, supporting business development, informing the working groups on wider market conditions and opportunities, as well as engaging on a specialty basis.
· To work with the Excellence Delivery Unit (XDU) to ensure all assurance reporting is provided and transformational projects have received appropriate capital equipping advice.
· Plans workload and manage own activities to varying priorities and demands from a broad range of stakeholder needs, ensuring key goals are met or expectations are proactively and transparently managed.
· Works on own initiative and is responsible for the management of own workload
· To provide line management responsibilities, including encouragement and development for the commercial services team.
· To be passionate and pragmatic about the equipping and procurement work undertaken for the benefit of our patients, staff, volunteers and wider organisation.
· To ensure effective management of any financial budgets within capital equipping projects
· To support research into new procurement opportunities for possible development within Moorfields or the wider ophthalmic community.
