Job title – Shop Assistant Basic Rate – £12.10 per hour Work Pattern – 40 hours per week, Variable hour contract Location – Canary Wharf (E14 5AX), London This is an exciting opportunity to join Tian Tian Market at Canary Wharf Store. As a Shop Assistant you will provide excellent customer service, replenish/manage stock, assist with deliveries & follow store procedures/polices. You will need to be self-motivated & have a positive, successful attitude. Experience working in a similar retail role is essential. We are looking for long term staff who want to grow their career with the company. You will report to the Managers, Supervisors & Senior staff This is a full-time role & you must be available to work 5 days, 40 hours per week. Please no part-time applications at this time. Potential candidates will be invited to an interview and experience shift of two hours. Duties/responsibilities: Provide professional high level of customer service at all times. Serving customers, responsible for processing cash and card payments. Assisting shoppers to find the goods and products they request. Informing senior staff of customer complaints. Product Knowledge. Receiving and storing stock deliveries. Stocking shelves correctly (stock rotation), attaching correct price tags to merchandise on the shop floor. Date checking stock to reduce wastage. Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays. Carry out work instructions from senior staff and supervisors. Reporting problems to the supervisors. Maintain excellent attendance record. Balancing cash registers with receipts being responsible for any discrepancies. Keeping the entire store, safe and clean, this includes vacuuming, mopping & disposing of waste. Being aware of threats within the store and being on the lookout for shoplifters and fraudulent cash/credit cards, reporting issues to Supervisors. Maintaining Health & Safety throughout the store. Experience/skills: Previous retail/customer service experience (Essential). Bilingual Mandarin & English speaking (Desirable) Knowledge of Easy Asian & South East Asian food products (Desirable) Comfortable working & communicating with members of the public. Able to work as part of a team. Stock replenishment experience (Essential). Experience receiving large quantities of stock. You must have eligibility to work on the UK.
