If you are currently a Support Worker, with an interest of working in the education sector, this job may be for you. Support Worker Responsibilities: Assist students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, speech, language, and communication needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs on 1:1 small group basis. Work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement and monitor individualised education plans. Working with the class teachers to develop sensory, speech, language, and communication needs. Provide physical support where necessary, including assistance with mobility, personal care, and feeding. Implement positive behaviour strategies and interventions to manage and support students’ behaviour. Support Worker Requirements: Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher, such as an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. Have at least 6 months experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a care of school setting. Be a strong and engaging communicator. Be compassionate, caring, and have a genuine desire to help young people overcome their barriers.
