Peterchurch Primary School - Early Years Practitioner Apprentice
This position will be working as a member of the pre-school team, showing initiative and creativity to foster an environment which encourages the children’s all-round development and where high standards of care are provided.
Given the rural location of the School, this position would ideally suit a driver or someone who lives in the local area. Please consider how you would travel to and from the site before applying.
Vacancy Description:
* Apprentice will be working with a small group of pre-school children alongside a classroom teacher
* Working with children on play-focused learning activities
* Preparing resources
* Be a reliable member of a team, working cooperatively and with flexibility
* Observe each child’s progress and report on achievements, looking for progression and continuity
* Develop excellent communications with parents/carers, encouraging them to participate in their child’s progress and development
* Assist with the creation of a stimulating and attractive environment
* Assist with the care, maintenance, and security of all equipment and toys within the pre-school
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
* Participate in all self-development activities, including appraisals, etc.
* Develop positive relationships with other staff working within the pre-school
* Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety, and cleanliness throughout the pre-school
* Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures, e.g. fire procedures, routines for dropping off and collecting children
* Have good ICT, Literacy, and Numeracy skills
* Be able to work flexibly and independently, adapting to changing circumstances.
