Reporting to the Manager, you will support students by being the first point of contact for any wellbeing issues, and for any member of staff who has concerns about a student. You will also provide a link between faculties and Student Services on areas of student concerns, including non-engagement and general wellbeing issues that impact upon the students ability to successfully complete their programme.
With experience in addressing and providing first line response to welfare issues for adult learners and vulnerable groups, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills, including empathy, an understanding of professional boundaries, and the ability to work within these at all times. You will have a good understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues and its essential that you’ll be able to demonstrate a confident approach in dealing with challenging situations.
The post is all year round and applicants must have excellent communication, literacy, IT skills and be able to work on their own initiative as well as being part of a team. This area of Student Services is a high-pressure environment so applicants must demonstrate an ability to be calm, be able to multi-task efficiently and be fully aware of professional boundaries.
