GSL Education are looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Ashington. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the education sector while supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students reach their full potential, both academically and personally. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN. Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment. Support students with personal care needs when required. Encourage the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils. Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students. To be a successful Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you need: A recent degree (any subject) – Psychology or Education-related subjects preferred. A passion for working with children, especially those with SEN. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude. Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid). Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of each child. A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
