What we are looking for -
We are looking for a competent, friendly and hardworking nursery practitioner to come and join our team at Noah's Ark. We are looking for someone with experience and an understanding of the daily operations of an Early Years setting. We want someone with a love and passion for the job to come and slot into our fantastic team. It is essential that any applicant has a good understanding of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation stages) and safeguarding practices. Applicants will need to have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
Main Duties:
* To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members)
* To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
* Support all staff and engage as part of a team .
* To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication channels with parents/carers to help facilitate day-to-day care and developmental needs.
* To ensure a high quality of provision and environment at all times to meet the individual needs of all children, taking into account any special educational / medical needs, varying community and cultural needs, or EAL support required.
* To advise manager/deputy of any concerns regarding the safety and development of the children and nursery environment, as well as any safeguarding, health and safety, or confidentiality issues.
* To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, staff meetings, summer fayre, etc
* To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
* To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting.
* To develop your role within the team, especially with regards to being a key person.
* To keep any information attained regarding the children, their families or other staff confidential when appropriate.
* To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside.
* To support nursery assistants, students, apprentices and volunteers.
* To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
* To undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SENCO, training co-ordinator, behaviour management co-ordinator, equal opportunities co-ordinator etc. -To undertake all relevant and required training regularly
